Connexx Suddenly Stopped Detecting Hearing Aid

Hi I was adjusting both an old hearing aid and new one. After about an hour of trying to get the settings right, I disconnected one aid and connected another and got the following issue:

Now I cannot get any of the aids to connect at all. I’m using a Hi-Pro 1 connected via USB and have been for years. This in on a Windows 10 computer using Signia Connexx 9.13.

I’ve tried the following with no luck:

  • restarting computer
  • tried different/new cables and connection ribbons
  • updated/repaired Signia software
  • went into device manager and deleted the Hi-Pro and then plugged it back in. (I don’t have install disc)
  • installed Connexx and the Hi-Pro on another computer and get same issue.

No idea what happened. Was working fine one minute and then all of the sudden just stopped detecting the hearing aids completely. The Hi-Pro’s power light stays on when plugged in and all the other lights start blinking when I click “detect hearing aid” but it just doesn’t connect.

Any ideas? Happy to provide additional info that might be helpful in diagnosing the problem.

I’m new here, and don’t have direct experience, but from reading this forum i would recommend turning your phone off. Sounds like you’ve done everything else to me.
Goo luck!

Yeah well you shouldn’t “disconnect” while still connected to another, some issue there, but I’d try uninstalling 9.13 and install an older version to make sure your HiPro will connect or show up correctly, as you’ve got it showing in device manager your HiPro still needs to show up in the software.

Also what are the models your trying to program together?
The HiPro is the USB model or old serial port with a converter cable?

The Hi-Pro is the USB model.

These are some older Siemens Insio models and both are for your left ear. They are setup on 2 different Client profiles through Connexx. I close Connexx before disconnecting and swapping out the hearing aid I’m programming. It’s just odd because I’ve done this dozens of times over the years and never had an issue. Just seems odd that it would have this problem all of the sudden. Especially when I installed Connexx and the Hi-Pro on a totally different computer and it is still not working. I did also uninstall 9.13 and installed 9.11 but the issue still persist.

I wondering if something happened to the Hi-Pro. I installed/uninstalled it several times but still having the same issue. I don’t have the install CD but did find them via another post on here but again, no luck.

Yeah I agree it’s odd, if you’ve done it so many times before and now even on another PC same problem, actually in the old days you could run a self test in the software to be sure the software has recognise the HiPro, I remember doing this with older version of target I believe, this could possibly eliminate the HiPro itself from any issues.

I always suspect cables/connectors in situations like this.

Well, after uninstalling/reinstalling several versions of Connexx and finding a program that test the Hi-Pro (which indicated it was functioning correctly), I found some additional Flex Connectors in my Hi-Pro box. There was only one that matched the other 2 I had been using for the past few years so I gave this new one a try and…It worked!! Wasted hours of my time trying to figure it out and of course it was something simple like the Flex connect ribbon.

I’m back in business. Thanks everyone for their input/recommendations.
