Unable to use the connexx link
The defect is always the same : the “Detect aid” button is almost never successful
When I press it, The connex link starts the search ,and those waving color bands go up and down on the screen for maybe a minute or so.
Usually, if I’ve put only one aid next to the connexx link, then I get the message:
the connected hearing instrument cannot be configured.
the instrument is not supported by either the installed database or the used programming device
if I’ve put both aids in, I always get that same message twice ( so obviously the connexx got some indication both aids are there)
after that message(s) is clicked away, I always get the following message:
unable to receive data from aids
please check
1.are the hearing aids within the short range of the conexlink
2. are the hearing aids switched on
3. are the batteries still OK
Please check module or call our hotline if problem persists (1198 in module)
once or twice after a detection attempt, I got no error messages , it just went to the screen showing "connected devices", but when that happens, that screen shows only blank space where the devices are listed
Two separate times I have been successful , different days, and doing nothing different I am aware of. Once with each of the two aids. The connex link got their serial numbers and knew left-right. It even knew each was part of a pair , and would not let me go further without the second aid being recognized ( which it then failed to do)
what I’ve done to trouble shoot:
(repeated) new batteries in aid,
left the connexx link charging overnight
moved the aids to that they are about an inch from the connexx link
uninstalled software and Reinstalled
any ideas?
details:
connexx link software is siemens version 6.5.5
aids are siemens motion 501’s, CIC, purchased 2010
the siemens database installed in the connexx link does list motion501
Just to double-check: Connexx link is a two-part system. Do you properly wear the loop around your neck when connecting?
I’ve never had any problems like you describe, using a Connexx link and two Motion P BTE hearing aids.
Are your hearing aids working properly with other wireless devices, like Tek or mini-Tek? If not the problem could be in the wireless connection of your hearing aids.
If you know anybody else with Siemens hearing aids you could try if you can connect to their ha’s with your setup to see if the hardware is ok.
Check the firmware of your Connexx Link. It can be out of date and updates are available through the Connexx software.
Did you try to make a wired connection through a HiPro?
I am having a nearly identical issue with my Rexton Cobalt 16s (Siemens Pure 701). My HI’s are not recognized in the database. I am using the Connexx 6.5.5 with RexFit downloaded from their site and my HI are listed in the HI list. I do not have a HiPro (I was hoping to avoid that.) There is a report in another forum that if the HI’s are imported into connexx via the import function with includes their serial numbers then Connexx will recognize the HIs however I cannot confirm this.
My tek is working perfectly.
I did put an e-mail into Siemens technical support, I am hoping for a response.
