I’ve tried everything I know to get Windows 10 on my Hp laptop to recognize my new hearing aid and nothing works. I can connect it just fine to my S22 phone… but I can’t seem to get it to even recognize it when I click the add bluetooth. I’m no stranger to computers/bluetooth. I know how to set things up. I’ve searched online and can’t find anything. Any or does this hearing aid not work with Win10 connectivity? I had a previous Phonak Bluetooth and it worked just fine pairing… no issues.
It uses a different bluetooth protocol (low energy) than Phonak (almost all other hearing aid companies do), and it isn’t the “classic” bluetooth like most wireless accessories we know, so you’ll need Starkey’s intermediary device to connect your aids to your laptop. Recent phones are designed to work with the LE protocols, ASHA for Android and MFi for iPhones.
The Starkey remote mic can be hooked up to your computer and BT to your HA.
Thanks… I think I’ll be going back to Phonak then… I don’t need another “device”. to make an expensive piece of equipment “connect” to another piece of equipment. You’d think everyone would be on the same page here on this issue and make it universal. Personally, I think it’s just a way of trying to get you to spend even more money.
Thank you. for your replies. I wish I would have known this before I brought it but forgot to ask about wind 10 when my audiologist suggested this hearing aid, when I lost my original one. Think I’ll just go back to the Phonak hearing aid. I’m already paying almost 3k for a device and shouldn’t have to fork out an additional almost 300 for another device to “talk” to my pc. Bluetooth has been available for quite some time now, there is no reason why the technology cannot be universal across the board.
While I like the hard fall feature, my watch also has that… so there really is no reason to spend the extra 300 to add another deivce just to be able to stream from Pc.
How can we do this? Where is this remote mic located ?
