Cochlear Custom Sound mapping software

I’m just 2 weeks post-op from my CI surgery, and 1 week since “switch on” with my new Nucleus 8 device.
Being the tech-nerd that I am, I want to obtain a copy of the Cochlear Custom Sound mapping software; I believe the latest version is 7.0.
I love to, need to, understand everything about my hearing loss, and I program my own hearing aid (I’ve even made my own aids with DSP) in order to understand it better. Now I want to understand my new CI by learning the software they use to program / map it.
Does anyone know how the N8 is connected to the PC? Do i need a specialist cable? i don’t suppose my NoahLink device would work?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Sorry but this is impossible to find, although there’s been many requests over the years for this from the CI community it’s never been offered, personally I’d like to think you should leave this to the pro’s anyway.

yes, you need a very special cable and a programming pod plus the programming software, and above all that your internal implant code as well as your external processor model code must be unlocked in order to write/read into the processor.

I’m also looking for cochlear implant programming software,I have seen some users buy software and hardware and they can program

Dear all,

I‘m also searching for the Custom Sound Pro Fitting Software of Cochlear, the programming pod and the special cable. If you know how to get it, please contact me. I‘m looking forward to your message.

Best regards.

Unfortunately these are not available to us, it’s unlikely you’ll find this, having a contact within this industry would be the best bet.

You can find a computer with Custom Sound Pro installed and copy it.

I saw a cochlear programming pod and the special cable for sale online.I’m looking for AB’s programming pod and cable

Thank you so much for your answers. I already contacted the industry but they want their patients to remain dependend on them. So I will try to follow the advices of Mary or are there any other ideas?

I don’t have any others myself, I’m not sure where you’ll find an old PC with the software still available on the hard drive but it’s worth a shot, the cables I’ve never seen before online (as in to the public)
Good luck.

I‘m keeping my fingers crossed, too. If someone is here who can sell something of the needed equipment you can also send me a private message here.
