My idex 440 aids have a lot of nasty brown residue in the battery compartments… Its probably from moisture accumulating in there, and not having anywhere to go… Is there something I can spray in there to flush it out???.. Its getting quite heavy. I have been using my Seimens Life 701 aids, so its not critical, but I really would like to be able to clean the widex up myself without having to send them off and have someone else clean them for $700…bob
I’d clean them out with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
Q tip is too big to get into the battery compartment… widex 440 aids are tiny…
Spray some electrical contact cleaner in there.
Thats actually what I was hoping someone would say… I have some electronic cleaner here… Is it safe to use on a hearing aid?.. Wouldn’t want to ruin a $6000+ set of hearing aids… bob
BeeBee,
If you live close enough to Garden Grove, CA you could send your HA’s to www.DirectHearingAidServices.com and for $19.99 each they will clean and check out your HA’s. I have used them several times and can’t say enough good things about them; There turn around time is unbelievable taking less than a week and that is with mailing them my HA’s.
