Brass tube lock with 13t tubing

Hello,
I currently change the tubing on my hearing aids using the thick tubing with brass locks.
I was thinking about changing from the brass locks to the TRS ( tubing retention system ).
From I read about the TRS tubing, it is designed to allow for a friction fit into the
earmold without damaging the sound bore when removing it.
I’m concerned, because right now, with the brass locks, I can slide the tubing with the lock, out the bottom of the earmold. So I do not know if the sound bore is already damaged. If it is, I’m not sure the new tubing with the friction lock will hold the tubing in place.
Has anyone gone from the brass tube lock to the friction lock without any problems ?

I prefer the plastic locks to the brass locks. The brass locks do tend to damage the earmold around where you sink the lock when changing the tubing–the silicone starts to crack more readily. The brass ones also corrode with moisture. But yes, if your mold is already cracking then the plastic locks may not hold the tube in well.
