Bluetooth reception to my new Danalogic Ambio S 77s is intermittent

When listening to iphone music over Bluetooth the sound is intermittent especially if I am outside (on the move). Is this a common fault? I queried with my audiologist who wasn’t able to advise/show any real concern.

Does this also happen when you maintain a clear line of sight between your phone and both HAs?

The low energy Bluetooth link used by HAs is much more susceptible to interference or location of the phone vs. regular Bluetooth.

I.e. if you keep your phone in your back pocket, you will likely see the connection to at least one of your HAs to be somewhat unstable.

Hi, and many thanks for responding. For preference, I keep my phone in my back pocket but during experimental times I have tried siting the phone in my top shirt pocket which I still have problems with. Being an intermittent “fault”: it can perform for ages without interuption but then begin to sound like Norman Collier (showing my age!), it is difficult to verify whether top pocket is any better than back pocket. However, if as you say the HA’s bluetooth is low powered, I guess it’s a case of grin and bare it or dig deep into the front pocket?

@HiaWalt

I’ve got NHS Oticon Xceed Play 1 Aids and I’ve been able to carry my phone in my back pocket and have no issues even when in the middle of no where.

My NHS Aids use Low Energy Bluetooth as well.

Bluetooth including Low Energy will always do better when it can bounce off walls / buildings so you may find Bluetooth works better in the house.

My Step Mum is just about to get the same Aids as you as she’s due an upgrade and that is what she’s been told she will get, Ambio S.

She’s currently wearing Oticon Engage Aids and again, has had no issues with Bluetooth.
