I’m trying to understand the Bluetooth protocol of my Widex Moment 440’s. My understanding is that Widex Did not use the new LE Bluetooth But instead uses the older traditional Bluetooth protocol. At any rate my Hearing aids will not pair directly to my Apple Watch, I’m told this is because of a mismatch of the protocols between the watch and hearing aids. To be able to use my hearing aids directly to my Apple Watch I have to wear the COM-DEX around my neck. This works fine but it would be nice not to have to wear that little piece of jewelry everywhere I go. I also noticed that when I have my Widex Moments Paired directly to my iPhone 15 Pro plus the Bluetooth Quality is absolutely horrible. It makes old time AM radio like out Fidelity. Here again Where I have the COM-DEX paired with my iPhone the quality of the sound is improved 95%. I would like to know what this COM-DEX is actually doing to allow me to use my hearing aids with both my Apple Watch 10 and my iPhone. As I mentioned earlier this COM-DEX device makes everything work but you would think in this day and time these devices should be able to work together without the necessity of having this intermediate translator hanging around my neck. Especially since I have nearly the latest version of the phone, the Apple Watch 10 and the Widex 440x I found an Internet searches that none of these companies want to really discuss what type of Bluetooth protocol that they’re using all I know is they don’t play well together for me without the COM-DEX. Anybody got any more insight on how these things work or don’t work together.
I think you’ll find those widex aids are limited to ASHA/MFi, which limits you to your iPhone and select android models, besides your codex and very few other accessories. The apple watch and most older macs aren’t going to play. These hearing aids weren’t released in the last ten minutes, which it seems like requirement to have working LE Audio protocols. Note that your aids do use Bluetooth LE, just not LE Audio. There is an important distinction. This is covered in the older threads here fairly comprehensively if you search around for those keywords. Best wishes with your HAs!

I use to be an IOS user and no the apple watch isn’t compatible but maybe the Phonak aids with classic Bluetooth.
That’s baffling… my Widex Moment 440s pair perfectly with my iPhone 13pro, excellent call and streaming sound. My Garmin watch is paired with my phone, which enables me to control HA streaming and calls with my watch. I don’t have a Comdex. Are you trying to control your HAs with your watch without your phone with you?
I got the impression there was a desire to stream from the watch.
