Sorry i do not follow.
1 side is almost completely gone, and other side it has been declining slowly.
So completely zero response in tonal audiometry as from my left ear?
Not zero, but its not usable since they have to crank the volume and it gives high pitch noise in my head!
Infinio Sphere uses their dedicated deepsonic AI chip in loud noise situations to more effectively target separate speech from unwanted background noises and competing speech for up to a 10dB signal to noise ratio improvement. It can do this for a speech signal coming from any direction which is massive for someone who effectively has unilateral hearing so wonât have access to binaural cues for separating speech from noise. Iâd recommend trialing this over a CROS system. As itâs from the same manufacturer you will probably find Phonak is happy to oblige, especially if youâre dissatisfied with the CROS system and plan on returning the product anyway. If you need more help with distant talkers a Roger On remote microphone can be added to help with this.
I agree. CROS has never given a benefit for me during trials. The sphere is great even without a CI on the poorer ear. Keep in mind that I have lived most of my life without a CI.
CI evaluation is also recommended in case of @Aeolian. That doesnât oblige one to go with the surgery, but provides very useful information about individual hearing.
Thanks for the feedback on the sphere.
But Iâm not a candidate for CI, since the nerve is likely severed during surgery.
I am definitely going for sphere trial, thanks for the feedback.
I have a question for all.
How does the phonek audeo compare to sphere, when AI is not triggered, for normal use?
