I have a set of Rexon Cobalts from Costco and the hinge on the battery door broke on one of them. I was still able to get it closed and it’s working, but I’m afraid that doing that every day until I can get it repaired may mess up something in the battery compartment. Something to worry about?
Also, is this a repair that can be done in the store?
I can’t imagine any way you can do damage to your HA by doing what you describe. The little hinge on the battery door is just like 100 children’s toys in my past. Hard to say if your store will have the part, but the repair itself should be simple.
Aids will typically have snap-on doors. Repair is simple: replace the door with a new one. Hopefully the dealer will have one in stock that’s in the right color. You might inquire about getting a spare door just in case. I’ll give one to a user if they request it. Good luck!
