Baby concert

No judgement but I made a big mistake. I got free tickets for concert and went in with my baby 8 months. I didn’t plan it just happened. He was asleep in pram no ear muff. 3 hours . He woke for last 1 hour. Found out noise level was 100db . He seems fine but sometimes I feel he not responding no to quiet noises. II now worried I have caused noises induce hearing loss and affected his hearing for the future. Any advice etc.

Exposing your ears to 100dB for 3 hours can cause significant hearing damage. The general rule is that exposure to 100dB should be limited to around 15 minutes to avoid hearing damage. Prolonged exposure to such a high decibel level, especially without hearing protection, can lead to temporary or permanent hearing loss.

Try not to worry, hope your wee boy is ok.

Thank you for the reply
When will I know if he is affected?
Would I see this in the hearing test?

How long past did you attend the concert? Maybe you should give it a little time before you have your son’s hearing tested. You could be over worrying into thinking he is not responding to quiet sounds.
