Audio Cable 3,5mm <-> Micro USB for Roger Select

Hey you
Scanned the forum but haven’t found this topic so far:
Does anybody by chance know if there are any of the shelf 3,5mm Audio jack to Micro USB cables available that work with the Phonak Roger Select (IN).
I bought several from Amazon and EBay. All of them refused to work in this setup. Is it a special Phonak cable???
The original Phonak cable is just too short for my set-up.
Of course I could use a simple 3,5mm extension:-)
But I’d just prefer a solution without additional jacks
Thanks for any advice
Greetings from Germany
PS
This is the original cable I am talking about:

The direction of data in these cables is reversed from the use of the ones you can typically find. I have not found one for my Roger on except a Phonak one.

This format cable is usually used to push sound from a device like a phone or music player to a car or other audio playback system via aux port. You want the sound going into the mic so you can hear it.

Some of the hearing aid supply businesses in UK sell them but it is a pain for us in the rest of the world.

Thanks for your kind answer and advice.
I will keep on searching :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
If you need some I could order them from UK (even that isn’t that easy any longer after Brexit) and ship them to you…

Not sure if @kevels55 could help this matter?

Hello @Pink

I do indeed have one, I believe these are specialist Phonak cables, I have searched the internet, and I can find none of these cables either… They are indeed short, at around 300mm or 1 foot long… I would imagine, a 3.5 plug extension is your best option? Good Luck, cheers Kev

The problem with these is that most are designed to only allow the audio to go the wrong way: from a source at the USB end to a speaker at the 3.5mm end. Phonak’s cable that comes with it does the opposite, but that’s hard to find elsewhere. A 3.5mm extension should work, because if it’s made to be used with headphones, it would be designed for the male end to be plugged into the audio source. But I’ve never tested that.

That’s assuming you’re plugging the 3.5mm end into a tv or something, and the USB end into the Select directly. If you plug the USB end into the audio source and the 3.5mm end into the Select’s base unit, any cable should work.

Cables designed for the 3.5mm to be plugged into a microphone might work here, too. I just ordered one, so we’ll see how that goes.

Thanks for your explanation!
The 3,5mm extension works fine. I tested that already - that’s how I deal with it today. But the 3,5mm connectors tend to age quite quickly and that there might me unwanted noise (cracks etc) hearable…

I am excited to hear if the cable you found works.

My last search resulted in a replacement calbe for headphones… haven’t ordered it yet though…
