Hello. I just bought an expresslink3 to program my Sonic Cheer series miniRITE. According to the sonic webpage documents, to program this model I need the “new standard #2 cable” and flexconnects. The expresslink3 I bought comes with Oticon #3 cables, that after researching seem to be standard cs44 cables (I could be wrong about that). I can´t find anything on the Sonic #2 cables to see if it is the standard cs44 cable. Any idea if they are the same cables?
I am completely new on this subject, so any help would be great.
Yes, Standard CS44 Programming Cables are the same as Oticon Programming Cable #3.
Thanks. And Sonic #2 cables are standard cs44 as well? So Oticon #3 will be the same as Sonic #2?
Sonic, bernafon, oticon are the same, those Sonic Cheer can be programmed with the wireless FittingLink as well.
Thanks for the replies. That´s great. I wanted to make sure since I am having everything shipped outside of the US. Just wanted to make sure I get everything I need.
Personally, I wouldn’t use either of the two hearing aid programming devices being discussed here. Why? Because both are proprietary, meaning they are designed to be used only for one manufacturer’s hearing aids.
Instead, for EXPRESSfit 2017 fitting software, I would recommend industry standard programming devices (mini pro or Hi Pro) for a wired programming device and Noahlink Wireless for a wireless programming device.
With the industry standard devices, you have a good chance for your device working for other manufacturer’s hearing aids. Though, sometimes you may get a bargain for a proprietary hearing aid programming device. So there’s that.
Yeah. I did a lot of reading before ordering, and I was going to get a Hi-pro off aliexpress, but themI found an auction for the expresslink3 with the cables and won it for $30, so it saved me a lot of money. But if it were any more expensive I would have rather invested in something that can be used for different brands like the Hi-pro.
Thanks for all the advice and help.
The Noahlink Wireless is not suitable for EXPRESSFIT 2017.
Well, not all models, for example it would have to be a Wireless 2.4 GHz model. But Noahlink Wireless is listed as a supported programming device for EXPRESSfit 2017. Scroll down in the Sonic link at the end of this post to find this selected information:
What programming interfaces can be used with the EXPRESSfit Fitting System?
EXPRESSfit Pro and EXPRESSfit 2017 support the following programming interfaces:
HI-PRO, HI-PRO 2, USB HI-PRO
NOAHlink
FittingLINK 3.0 (2.4 GHz only)
FittngLINK 2.0
EXPRESSlink3
Noahlink Wireless (2.4 GHz only)

If we want to be precise; Actually it is FittingLink that is not suitable for EXPRESSfit 2017. FittingLINK 3.0, Yes. The older FittingLink, No.
Yeah the OP wants to program the cheer 20, Noahlink Wireless cannot be used in EXPRESSfit 2017 for this, nor can FittingLink 3.0 be used, only FittingLink (which is the 2.0 version I believe) see the actual programming devices available in EXPRESSfit 2017 in my attachment.
The OP has got EXPRESSlink 3 which is fine, over time I’m sure that @liquidzorch will want to invest in a HiPro USB and/or Noahlink wireless for any later 2.4 GHz models from any other manufacturer.
Seems we all do this eventually.
Cheers
