Anyone hear of Audi Vax Dietary Supplement to improve hearing

Someone told me about Audi Vax Dietary Supplement. I’m wondering if anyone here has heard of this, has used it, or is it a scam!

I would take that with a pinch of salt @ggreenone… There is no known cure (at present) for sensory neural hearing loss, some of the hair cells are dead, or damaged, and no amount of dietary supplements, is going to make a blind bit of difference… Unfortunately, the world is full of trickery… They prey on people’s aspirations & hope, there is nothing tangible from these people, nothing to back up their claims, apart from their willingness to part you from your hard earned cash… Avoid!

Not a cure, but I read recently that metabolic disorder (also leads to diabetes, PCOS, and a great number of chronic illnesses) is a cause of SNHL. Reversing the metabolic situation can stop the loss. The book is Clean Energy by the sister/brother team of the Means.

Yeah WH, I struggle badly with Diabetes, lately my blood sugars have been all over the place, certain foods spike me, especially certain fruits… I am experimenting with Metformin, gradually increasing the dose, we appear to be gaining some control? I am fairly strict on my diet, although occasionally, I will succumb to the odd sweet, but that’s getting rare… As far as “Cochlear Hair Cells Damage”, I can’t envisage any cure in my lifetime, nerve damage is pretty permanent… Although, perhaps certain supplements can slow your loss down? Our bodies are basically small chemical factories, but each of these factories react differently, what is good for me might have an adverse effect on you…Cheers Kev

I’m hoping that eating only organic foods with no processed meats and oxygenated water will help slow down the progress of age related hearing loss.

I’m learning that glucose spikes staying up too high and too long, due to insulin resistance are big flags. The poisons in food can cause damage to the mitochondria. this can lead to the metabolic disorder. Food choices make a big difference too. Foods that make your glucose spike should be infrequent treats. The other book on this I like is Ultra Processed People by van Tulleken.

van Tulleken focuses more on the ultra processed foods. The Means view glucose monitoring as a key to getting feedback to control the whole system. Diet and Exercise, what we’ve been told for decades, but new details to make changes effective.

Yeah WH, my fingers are like pincushions, with all the Lancets, for taking blood :joy: I have a Glucose Monitor, issued to me via the diabetic nurse, a few years ago, but I bought the Bluetooth version, that records all the readings on to my iPhone, I have been monitoring myself a long time, there was a marked increase in mmol/Levels, that was gradually climbing, over the last few months, so much so, I couldn’t keep it below 10.0, so I stepped up the monitoring, now I am testing 3 or 4 times a day, looking for spikes, for instance today, I was between 13.7 and 4.6 mmol/L, I suspect some fruit for that 13.7 Spike, a couple of days ago, I had a 17.0 mmol/L, fruit again, it is becoming apparent, I may have to avoid fruit? I do try to avoid any processed foods, most of the meals I eat are freshly prepared, but once a week, I will have a Chinese or Indian meal, it is difficult to avoid all processed foods… I am back to see the Diabetic Nurse next week, for a full review, I am hopeful, by then, that I might have my glucose levels mainly below 10.0, she gave several boxes of Metformin, they have a significant effect on lowering my blood sugar levels, it’s just working out how many a day, and when… I am allowed a maximum of 4 x 500mg tablets per day, at the moment, I take 2 per day, I might step up to 3, but hopefully 2 will suffice? The main problem with Metformin, is basically side effects, but (touch wood) I appear to be able to handle them, with little or no adverse effects… Cheers Kev

A service I’ve signed up for to help straighten me out is sending me dexcom g7 CGMs. I think those do 5 min updates for 10 continuous days. Logging food, water, exercise.

I heard in a podcast today the the metabolics start to turn around in two weeks. Either way- good to bad or bad to good.

I am blessed to have great genes. And the fact that i am a believer of eating only real food. I don’t eat processed food, fast food, or drink soft drinks not even diet drinks. My fasting blood sugar is in the 80s. My blood pressure is in the 110/70 range without prescription drugs. I also walk and hike the local forest trails, and my walks a long with my diet is my prescription for health, and i am almost 77 years old. My weight isn’t what the doctors that worship their charts want me to be, but my formula is keeping my waist less than half my height. I also, practice intermittent fasting of 16 to 18 hours each day. I never eat after 6pm or before 11am.
While i have hearing loss and tinnitus my hearing loss is surprisingly stable. And my tinnitus doesn’t bother me because I have learned to compartmentalize it and not pay it any attention.
