I’ve recently started seeing a “Missing Distributor” error when trying to update Compass GPS.

Does anyone know how to go around it?

Hmmmm haven’t seen this one before, it talk’s about if it “should be activated” have you got it set to automatically check for updates, if you right click on the updater do you still get the option to automatically download/check for updates.

Yes, I still had that option but it did nothing.

I managed to fix it by restoring all registry keys under the following location:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Widex\CompassGPS

Wow fantastic a good result, I wonder how this could of happened in the first place, but anyways thanks for letting us know in case someone else has this same error.

What happens when you uninstall and reinstall Compass GPS?

I did not try uninstalling, as I did not want to risk wiping the local database.

You don’t lose your local data when you uninstall Compass GPS.

You can also use the Compass GPS Console to export your local data before uninstalling Compass GPS, so you don’t have to worry about losing your local data.

Hi there, great your giving DIY a go, but you’ll also need the Noahlink wireless programming device and do read the user guides as it’s very helpful for setting up the first time.

I have the Noahlink and have used the software before. I had a problem with the pc that it was installed to and now have a new pc. I went back through my emails to try installing from the previous download link but looks like the file is missing now

Ha yeah I know the feeling, I always keep a backup on a flash drive for just these types of situations.
