Fantastic, about time they got their act together, it can only get better…
Let’s hope they add an assistant that will allow us to tune in to different broadcasts.
So realistically this will come out in Pixel 10 phones later this Summer and won’t hit Samsung until February of 26?
And with luck my pixel 8 which should have updates for the next few years.
And by the time it reaches the Samsung phones the bugs have been worked out.
" * It also adds a feature that lets users switch between the built-in mics on hearing aids and the mic on the phone during voice calls." << YES !
That’s the main improvement I think. Everything else replicates the functionality in the app into the os.
Has anyone successfully switched to the built-in mics?
Just updated my Galaxy S25 Ultra to Android 16, on Verizon. None of these new features are found - no ambient noise adjustments, etc. I wonder if these features get throttled by certain companies?
It’s not finished.
My Pixel 6a received QPR1.
They are releasing 2 to beta testers.
I’m not sure what that means. Once the update downloads isn’t it done? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s versions.
They are still testing and adding items.
The release of Android 16 was a surprise.
They weren’t expecting it.
Example.
I see. This is not something I’ve seen happen with Samsung over the years. Maybe it’s a Pixel thing? I’d love to see it happen with the S25 at this point ![]()
Samsung takes Android modifies it to what it wants it to look like. a
Their vision if you will.
The basic OS they do not mess with.
Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’ve seen from them for the past dozen+ years. Seems they all tweak things, except maybe Google…
I’m actually looking forward to the potential improvements with the NL3 fitting formula additions. That sounds like some definite progress regarding speech in noise.
From what I read on the forum, I think it’s supposed to fit my loss better.
If like to try it and hear if it does.
