I’m quite new to Target programming and in trying to figure out what Costco might have done during recent very brief session, I noticed in Target under Global Tuning that the GAIN LEVEL was set as 90% and since I am an experienced user it is understandable to me that the Adaptive control box is unchecked. Does it make sense to you that GAIN LEVEL would be 90% rather than 100%?
My hearing loss is severe. Target Phonak Pro fitting guide writes this about GAIN: “Go to [Global tuning] > [Initial fitting] if adjustments to the gain level, occlusion compensation, or compression are
required. The gain level and compression settings are based on the client’s usage experience and the selected fitting
formula.” Costco has chosen Fitting Formula of Adaptive Phonak Digital 2.0

While I will do my own experiments with modifying settings in Target, since GAIN LEVEL would seem to impact virtually all other things I don’t think it’d be a good strategy to change it from 90% to 100%, but hopefully someone with experience can cut my learning curve about this.
Much thanks
edit to add that Target 6.1 indicates that “for DSL and NAL, both fitting formulas default to 100% gain
level regardless of User experience level.” and while I am using Target 7.1, what I have read about the Adaptive Phonak Digital 2.0 I can NOT find what its default GAIN might be, yet am suspicious that it might also be 100%. Since Costco fitters might not have the most training and/or experience I am willing to believe that the GAIN being set by them to 90% might?? have been an error that they have carried forward from original fitting a 14 months ago.
