Hello,
I would like to share my 9 months of Signia Silk 7x experience and ask your opinion about the issues.
I have been suffering from otosclerosis, I have surgery on my right ear but didn’t stop it. I am 40 and wearing a hearing aid on both ears. First time I have been using a hearing aid.
-
It is a small, invisible device but please consider that someone on your right, on your back can easily see it. Even the people in front of you can see it if it is slipped out, especially in summer. I need to push it inside my ear multiple times a day. Eating, walking, etc may cause it to slip out. I tried one size bigger sleeve but it was not comfortable.
-
It disturbs physically in the summertime due to warm weather, but the rest of the season is comfortable.
-
No issue with wind or rain. Acceptable in exercising, slipping but not falling, sweating is an issue. I prefer to not wear it when exercising.
-
My audi recommended RIC but I wanted to use IIC as my first HA. For sure RIC is a technically better device, this is one doing the job. I can use headphones or wear off HA and wear Airpod for long phone calls.
-
I am in sales, I travel a lot, meet new people all the time, so IIC is nice to have for me. I could consider buying RIC if I have a settled environment. That is the only point of IIC.
-
The hearing aid could be disturbing if the noise is high, such as a crowded restaurant. I need to wear off to prevent distraction sometimes. I see that there is more positive feedback about noise cancellation/management on RIC devices, I am kindly looking for your experience.

I hear weird mechanical noises and buzzes sometimes. I think feedback is normal but it could be disturbing. I may hear a buzzing sound 20 times a day, even my wife is hearing sometimes
I consider the HA is not successful enough to manage it.
-
When the sound level increases, the sound is going to be more treble. For instance, if someone speaks loudly in the car, it is going to be too treble and even could be disturbing.
-
I feel that the balance between the right and the left ear is changing. There months ago, when the audiologist adjusted it, it was ok but now, my right ear is hearing better than my left ear with the hearing aid.
-
The mobile app can’t change the sound level sometimes, I need to try multiple times.
Thanks,
BR,
