Almost half a century ago, I took several graduate courses with audiology students. I have had an interest in all sensory modalities since then. Yes, I am about to celebrate my diamond studded birthday.
About 6 years ago, I was tired of NOT hearing my (then) 9 year old grandson. I went to the insurance recommended hearing-aid provider.
One year later I was diagnosed with tonsillar cancer. Thankfully after a prolonged course of cisplatin and radiation, five years later, my oncologist used the “c” word. Even though my spouse was reduced to tears, I saw nothing wrong with the word “cured.”
Another 9 year grandson was unheard with new hearing aids from a provider that my health insurance provider recommended. Three years later, amortized at $1000 a year for the hearing aids, and I am longing for new hearing aids, through yet another health insurance plan through yet another insurance benefits handler. btw NO names, reviews, information of costs, or patient experiences. I am looking forward to the experience. NOT!
