Call me David.
Well, my dad was super-duper hard of hearing. He didn’t share his audiogram with me, maybe I’ll ask one day. He suffered a fall down stairs as an infant. My siblings and I all speak incredibly clear as a result. He is a famous (in his discipline) taxonomist.
My mom had a neuroma on her eighth cranial nerve, left side, and had her ear replaced with belly fat and the nerve trimmed down to the brain. So I’ve been around hearing loss my whole life.
My hearing loss is the result of my own stupidity. I listened to loud music (Rush, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, the like…you know, elevator music these days).
