I am 11 year retired and a long time aid wearer (20 years) high tone deaf in both ears from noise induced hearing loss. Was using least-cost NHS Siemens aids. They worked OK to a point. Just been fitted with Phonak Marvel 90s funded by our Veterans Hearing Fund (the fund in now exhausted). First impressions are that they seem ‘normal’ in other words I don’t notice them and the sounds seem completely natural.

Still learning but for a start I would say a smartphone and the Phonak app is essential for best utilisation of their features. I had a TV connector and have sent it back as it had a fault - I miss it.

One thing that is funny is you have to remember that you can hear your phone and TV when people with ordinary hearing cannot. that takes some getting used to.
