40 year old mom of 3 with severe hearing loss from recurrent bilateral cholesteatoma. I had first surgery at 2 years old and have had at least 14 surgeries since, most were ctoma removals since the buggers kept coming back. I had bilateral radical mastoidectomies in my teens and was ctoma free till a few years ago (finally found a ctoma after 3 years of complaining of severe dizziness & infections) . My middle ear bones were destroyed by ctomas by the time I was 5 years old. I got my first hearing aids when I was 5. I loved my old analogs! I’ve struggled since switching to digitals in my 20’s. I am currently wearing Resound Linx Quatros & finding it very difficult to find the right program. Hoping to get some answers here to help me talk to my audiologist & getvthrm adjusted correctly.
