I am 69 yo have been wearing hearing aids for 2 years for sensioneural loss. Mine is genetic and my oldest sibling (86) has just had a successful CI. My mother (who lived to 107!!) was profoundly, almost completely deaf in her later years and it really was isolating as she couldn’t talk in the phone or engage in conversation although she remained very sharp til around 103. So I am grateful for all of the HA technology and am hopeful that CI technology will continue to improve as I may need it myself in 15 years or so (per my audiologist.)
