I am a Hearing Instrument Dispenser who has been practicing for 24 years. I have worked on the manufacturing side, and in private practice and currently am the director of Clinical Operations at Shea Hearing Aid Center in Memphis TN.

I got into the industry because we found out about a year into my first son’s life that he was born virtually deaf. Since then I have had four more sons, two of which were also born the same way. My wife and I carry a recessive gene that, when present in both sides at conception, causes our kids to be born with what is called pendred syndrome.

Pendred causes a malformation of the cochlea where is is a half to three quarters of a turn short, and the number of inner ear cells are greatly reduced.

I have several hobbies, shooting, self defense/martial arts, fast cars, and Radio Controlled racing.
