64 years old been wearing NHS hearing aids for 10 years had SSHL last year resulting in 40% further loss to both ears . Since this happened I have no real pleasure listening to music which was one of my life’s biggest joys . I find it almost impossible to hear well in social settings since this further loss I was upgraded to Oticon Optim PP NHS aids but have found they are worse in noisy situations so I have not used them . I find the previous aids the Oticon Engage P do a better job suppressing back ground noise . I am seriously considering going private but am nervous about the quality of private audiologists finding a good one is difficult how do I know who to go to ?. I live in Manchester uk if anyone has good experiences in my area can you please put your recommendations out to me . Thanks in advance
