I experienced a severe sudden sensorineural hearing loss and have loud tinnitus in my left ear (possibly) from an advanced stage Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) infection back in July 2017. I suffered from facial paralysis, the sudden deafness & tinnitus and a full body immune response for months through my Lyme disease treatments. My primary care physicians told me that it may take up to 18-24 months for my hearing to "heal" from the antibiotics & bacteria exposure damage. I waited over 2.5 years before seeking professional help from a reputable ENT & Audiologist team. I am currently being tested thoroughly to get to the bottom of my sudden and lasting left ear deafness.
