I’m in my early 70s. I’ve been hard of hearing for about ten years. I’ve worked in live sound reinforcement and been exposed to very loud music. I’m an amateur musician but I don’t play particularly loud myself.

A few years ago my wife’s father died and I inherited his hearing aids. I bought a Noahlink Wireless thinking I could program them myself but I found that they needed a wired interface.

More recently a friend’s mother died and I was given her hearing aids: two pairs of Audeo Marvel M70 R, as best as I can determine. (The writing on the hearing aids is so incredibly hard to read!). I could have used my Noahlink Wireless to program them but I found that my old computer couldn’t run the software so they went into storage.

Recently I got a new (used) Windows 11 computer so here I am, hoping to learn to program my fancy Audeo Marvels.

Late last year I participated in a research study at OHSU in Portland. They were studying an iPad based hearing test. It was an interesting experience and I came away with $60 and a hearing test, which I have posted here.

It was only a nine band test but one of the researchers said he was going to be involved in another study at the VA which would do a 16 band test and that he would call me for that. I hope I hear from him.
