Why does my less powerful aid whistle when

Why does my less powerful aid whistle when I touch the first microphone from the ear hook?

Even if my hair is on it, it will whistle.

When I google it, it does not have anything about whistling when touching the aid.

My left is the most powerful so I would expect that one to do it but it does not, it is the right.

Thanks

If the venting on the earmold is larger on the less powerful hearing aid, when you put your hand there it most likely is in just the right spot to reflect some of the amplified sound coming out of the vent off your hand and back into the mic causing a feedback loop. Depending on how much hair you have, could be the same thing.

I have no vents at all in my BTE (mould) as I was told I could not have them with my hearing loss.

If nothing is touching it, it does not whistle. Should I be worried?

Well, I’m at a loss. This is a time when I’d normally call Phonak as I’ve never had that happen before and have no explanation for it.
