Unitron expands Discover platform family

Unitron expands Discover platform family with Stride P R (BTE) and Moxi Jump R (RIC) with telecoil

Discover hearing instruments offer superior sound performance, world-leading direct connectivity technology, and lithium-ion rechargeable battery to empower modern consumers for life on the go

October 1, 2019 – Kitchener, Canada – Unitron today announced its expanded family of hearing instruments on the Discover platform. The new products, Stride™ P R (BTE) and Moxi™ Jump R (RIC) with telecoil offer ultimate ease and convenience with hands-free phone calls, video calls, media streaming to both ears (on all mobile phones*), 24-hour charge with proven Sonova lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, and a virtual coach that helps wearers adapt to the care and maintenance of their hearing instruments with ease.

More connected than ever before

Employing the Sonova SWORD chip 3.0, hearing instruments on the Discover platform offer hands-free calling to both ears (for all phones*, including Android and Apple) and multi-media streaming in stereo sound. The hearing instruments use microphones that pick up the voice of the wearer, so they don’t even have to touch their phone during a call. In addition, Moxi Jump R with telecoil gives wearers access to hearing loop systems.

“A key connectivity advantage in Unitron hearing instruments is made possible by the Sonova SWORD 3.0 chip,” states Ara Talaslian, Vice president of Research and Development at Unitron Global. “Our technology is unique because it is the only two-way protocol available – this means wearers can stream directly to both hearing instruments on any smartphone or traditional phone with a compatible Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile. But, we deliver an additional advantage, as microphones in the hearing instrument pick up and transmit the voice of the wearer. Calls can be answered, carried out and ended using a button on the hearing instrument – with no need to event touch the phone, let alone speak into it.”

Proven lithium-ion rechargeable technology

Unitron’s lithium-ion rechargeables are a proven Sonova solution. This technology simplifies life for wearers, with full day charge that can be restored overnight. A single charge offers 24 hours of use, or for those who like to stream audio/media, 8 hours of audio/media streaming will allow for a total battery life of 16 hours on a single charge**.

Delivering a better experience inside the clinic, and beyond

New this fall, the Remote Plus app feature, coach, prompts wearers with timely tips and advice to help them acclimatize successfully to their hearing instruments. Coach reinforces what hearing care professionals have taught clients in-clinic, improving their ability to care for and adapt to life with hearing instruments. It allows hearing care professionals to spend less time training clients during appointments, and more time focusing on hearing care – all while increasing hearing instrument acceptance and overall satisfaction.

“FLEX™ experience innovations, like coach in the Remote Plus app, are focused on removing barriers and accelerating acclimatization to new devices. People with hearing loss want to be empowered through their journey and the modern healthcare consumer is happy to self navigate through some of it. Coach is a smart hearing solution that is easy and enables a superior overall experience,” says Lilika Beck, Vice-president of Group Marketing, Unitron Global.

@davewg the guy that has the Stride P currently would love this!

Good memory. I sure am. I wonder when these are being released/available for sale.

Thanks for tagging me.

I do wonder if the rechargeable offers enough power. The issue with the Marvel is that none of the current aids offer enough gain. Is there a link to the press release? I’d like to send to my audiologist to get her thoughts.

you’re welcome! LOL

Nah, it’s all the same as the Marvels right now.

Is there a Bolero M model that has more power?

Ah, sorry, I think there’s not. I fit something that I’m sure was a Stride D rechargeable the other day, but it was advanced launch stuff. So probably expected early 2020. But the UP RIC receiver is still more powerful than the rechargeable BTE. The higher power BTEs haven’t been released for Phonak yet so it’s going to be a while until the Unitron power BTEs are updated.

I don’t feel like the Max is that old though.
