I am a first-time HA user, 45YO, i am trying widex moment 440 mRIC. i have a moderate hearing loss on mid-high frequency in both ears. I am still able to live/cope without hearing aids but my hearing loss is slowly become a problem… i feel more and more to understand speech in noisy places and the use of masks is a nightmare since i cannot see the mouth. also following some dialogue on TV is becoming problematic.

Moreover, i am an hobbyst musician and i play/record my music, beside of course listening.

I must say the moment are quite comfortable and they are helping in understanding speech more clearly in several situations.

i chose the moment 440 because i read about their higher audio quality, and several musicians are endorsing them.

I will meet with the audiologist in the following days and I’m currently tracking down issues and experience. one thing that i noticed with the “Pure sound” program is that there is a sort of “noise reduction” active that is slowly decreasing the high frequencies of noise, even if is not of high volume. can someone confirm? this is not happening with the “Music” or “universal” program, so I have started from them, modifiyng the EQ.

I found the “optimize your sound” option in the app quite useless, since the changes it applies are often so tiny that i cannot hear any difference! any suggestion about this?

any comment on these HA will be appreciated!

thanks!

I have widex moment 220 and am satisfied. As for Pure Sound, I didn’t like it at all, the sound is very strange. I had this program withdrawn. As for My Sound, in fact, the differences are minimal, but if you use soundsense learn then you can get significant changes. I have programs created by me with sound sense learn that help me a lot and help the audiologist to notice the changes we need

I have the Moment 330 HAs. I like Pure Sound as it does not have the “floor” noise that Universal has. I got my Audiologist to add the program Comfort which reduces the impact of sudden noises like clangs and bangs. When I went to classical music concerts I had to reduce the volume as at times the level of sound was so high that it was overloading the HA output to my ears. I like the ability to set up my own personal programs using SoundSense.
