I called truhearing today. I have BCBS Federal with a 2500 benefit. I qualify for their prices which are awfully good
I have to wonder if BCBS owns them. They have a good agreement with them if nothing else. They made me an appointment with a audiologist within 3 miles of my home with sixteen years of experience. She carries Resound,
Phonak, and Widex which is the one I think I want. The Dream 220 would not cost me anything out of pocket and
the 330 would cost me 700 out of pocket. I was quoted 1500 and 2500 out of pocket respectively byanother local.
dealer. Its a no brainer if the rep and website doesn’t lie. They are also at least a thousand cheaper on the Phonak V 50 I am trialing from Connect Hearing. They will supposedly cost me 100 out pocket whereas Connect quoted me 1080 out of pocket.
So I might have to pay after the 3 allowed visits. I think I can handle that. You don’t need VSP, its just truhearing.com.
Will know better after 12/2 when I have my appointment. Will update then.

I checked with Truhearing yesterday. The price for the Phonak Q90 was $4,300.for a pair. I can get a pair at Costco for $2,600. I am getting a pair with custom molds, the Compilot, the Pilot 1 remote, the remote mic the TV Link streamer and the wireless DECT phone for $3,300. Even with all of the accessories it is still $1,000 less than the aids alone at Truhearing. These accessories would have added almost $1,000 to the price at Truhearing for a total of $5,300. That is $2,000 more than Costco.

Also they want $75 for the hearing test/exam. You then get three follow up adjustments for free after that they are $50 each. You get a 45 day trial period.

I also have BC/BS Fed. I just pay for the aids at Costco and then file a claim with the insurance company. Within three or four weeks I receive the $2,500 from BC/BS.

I have to drive 80 miles to a Costco but it is well worth it. The audiologist where I go is excellent. There is no charge for the exam/hearing test. You get a 90 day trial, no restocking fee if you return the aids within the trial period, and free adjustments for as long as you have the aids.

If possible, I suggest you check with Costco. Good luck on your search.

I tried both Costco and TruHearing.

They both offer very good prices on their products. In the end, I decided to go with the Widex 330 over the KS6. For me, it was just a better hearing aid.

Costco gave great(!) service and a great trial. TruHearing was a bit more expensive for the custom molds but in the end I needed to go with the hearing aid that was better for me. And TruHearing gave the best price compared to others, such as Connect Hearing and local audiologists.

I was fortunate to have the time to make an informed decision. Between info from thus blog and a generous 45-90 day trials, the decision was done with good confidence.

So I suggest to anyone, try both, select the best hearing aid for you and know that Costco and TruHearing are good companies. Thanks to both.

Thank you both. I am off to Costco tomorrow and am hoping the KS6 works for me because my hubby just brought me
the I Phone 6s. They will have to work for sound and speech though because that is what its all about. I am really pretty
much a homebody so I’m not real concerned with noise in large groups or restaurants. I have narrow canals so receivers
need to be small to be comfortable. Tried Siemans today and disliked them very much because they didn’t feel good in
my ears and my voice had an echo. Have an appointment through Tru Hearing next week. After that I will be done with
hearing tests , make my decision and take the plunge.

I tried the Dream 330 in the HIS office and liked them very much. They are one I might order through Tru Hearing.
As Premier Hearing doesn’t do free trials and it was early on in my search I didn’t do anything then. Boy am I glad
as Tru Hearing sells them for about 3200 and she wanted 5000.
