Hi- what did you end up doing? I see the same price from sellers on Ebay- 1 from Lancaster PA and other from Staten Island NY. They both will program.

HI:

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. It is very helpful. I’m struggling with a way to get the best HA without spending the extra few thousand. And it seems like the sphere will be the best option for me. Stay tuned

There’s no “best” HAs, the best one is the one that work’s ”best” for you after a trial, if you don’t want to spend thousands more then you need to then Costco is your “best” bet, a lot of hype on sphere unfortunately,if you don’t trial before purchasing then you may be underwhelmed.

Not sure what is your question!

I haven’t bought HA from ebay this year, but few years ago I did.

Fitting was done locally, not remotely.

Hi. My question was in response to your comment “Thanks for the reply.
I did reach out to them via their website’s phone number in Stockholm.
Warranty is for 3 (3.5) years straight from phonak.
No REM, but free adjustment if your are in town or remote.
Good price though.”

My question: What made you reach out to the ebay store shipping from Sweden? And where did you end up buying from? That comment was from April 2025 (5 months ago) so I guess you must have purchased hearing aids since that comment?

I was tempted to reach out to the Sweden Ebay store too but there are US sellers on Ebay now with the same prices - with tariffs now this might be better.

I ask these questions so i can gain from your research- maybe i have missed something in my research and the info you give can maybe help me going forward…

Thanks again..

What does this mean exactly? Were you told you can go to any local Phonak partner if your aids have issues or were you told you have to deal with Phonak directly?

No worries, I did reach out to them using the phone number on their website, I didn’t relay on their ebay contact details.

I didn’t buy from them, but I was just curious, so maybe in the future I can use them.

But since their warranty is only 3 or 3.5 years only, I prefer to get the HA here in the UK, I can get 5 years warranty on Phonak’s HA.

I hope this helps

Thanks

I was quoting Baltazard. Maybe he can answer that question for you.

I haven’t been told anything, I was enquiring about the price and the warranty.

I suppose, like most HA provider, you will need to go through them to fix the HA, as they are the one who have account with Phonak.

General public cannot open an account with phonak directly!

For any issues with your phonak HA, get in touch with your service provider or the company you bought it from, they will deal with repair and warranty on your behalf, as it is part of your purchase agreement with them when you sent them the greens.

I hope this helps

Good luck

I am aware of what you said.
I just don’t know how it works if you buy it in Sweden for use in the US. Do you send them to Sweden if something goes wrong? I ask this because, in the past, I needed something done for a pair of HAs bought in Canada: I had to call multiple offices because almost none of them wanted to touch a device that was not purchased from them.

He is in the UK. If you buy from a company in Sweden, you will have to it Sweden for them to repair or replace. Or the might send you a new one and you just mail the old ones back if under warranty. Its certainly easier dealing with someone in your own country. I did get in touch with the Ebay store in Sweden and they were so quick to reply and genuinely seemed very good. I am in the USA and i might prefer to buy from a US based dealer to avoid the tariffs and return if I do not want them anymore.

Makes sense, Thanks!

Like @boston20555 has said, you will need to send your HA to the company you bought it from.

Having said that, have you looked at ebay or Costco?

I wonder if you buy online, if there is a university hospital where you are, where supervised students in audiology could set your hearing aids up for free?

Some UH here in the UK do have such days, but not sure if they have in audiolgy, but they do have in dentistry!!!

Being in the US and buying from Sweden, I was also wondering about how the warranty would work. As I mentioned, I paid a local audiologist $500 for the real ear test. While I was there, I asked her about it. She told me that I could not send them back to Phonak directly because they don’t deal with retail customers. She said that I would need to bring them in to her and she would send them back for warranty repair. Since any visit to see her was going to cost me the price of an office visit, I figured that would also be the case for a warranty return. A warranty return was going to cost me at Ieast one office visit which is currently $130. I rolled the dice… I will pay the additional price if I have to.

I never asked the Sweden company about the process to send my HAs back to them because I would never part with my aids to send them around the world. That is too risky for my nerves.

When I bought these from Sweden, at the time, I found no online sellers in the US. Since then, some forum posters have mentioned US online sellers are now available. That is great news! I wish I had found them first. My main concern with buying online was the possibility of the product being factory seconds or rejects. After researching, I decided to trust Phonak to not let their seconds off the property and to trust the seller. Why did I take the risk and do that? I think it was because my local hearing aid providers were charging too much. If they lowered their price, many people, possibly myself too, would trade local and be happy.

I may have a different philosophy than most others… but I usually choose to buy the best quality products and forget about the warranty. Most of the time I never need it.

Hope this helps somebody.

This happened when I went private (UK). I could buy Paradise P90s online, a lot cheaper than he could buy them. He advised me to buy the HAs and he repriced his services. £2k for the aids, £1k for programming and slimtips. Another local Audiologist has also recently changed their policy, offering programming services for customer owned hearing aids. I’ve bought 3 pairs of deep molds from them. Neither, however, will touch UK NHS aids.
