How long have you been using mineral oil? I been using EAR WaxMD for a couple of years now. I was wondering if there is mineral oil in WAXMD but did not find any. WAXMD is not cheap but does work. Hope that helps.
I use it for along time. EarwaxMD is not available in Canada
Are you sure? I have bought EarWaxMD on Amazon and at CVS.
Trying to help…
EarClean MD is available from amazon dot ca.
Thank you very much !
Oh, geeze, i had surgery in both ears as a child that altered the architecture of my ear canals and opened things up directly into the middle ear. I was sternly warned NOT to let a doctor use a syringe to clean out ear wax. Rather I go in for what’s called ‘debriding’; that is, an ENT uses a tool and/or suction device to clean wax out of my ears.
Meanwhile, I’ve purchased a Jodi-vac for suctioning wax out of my hearing aids. Best thing ever!!
I use olive oil and my own mixture of hydrogen peroxide/alcohol in a dropper. Then flush ear with a small bulb syringe and warm water.
Could ear wax a genetic factor. Some has more and some has less??
Most likely @danka, overproduction of earwax could possibly be genetic, although illness and ear infections will likely be a mitigating factor, perhaps aging too? Cheers Kev
Thanks for the wonderful info.
My 1st visit to my new primary care physician, about 6 months ago, she had a look in my ears and had her assistants clean out the ear wax. Left ear, she said, was almost plugged. She said they’d do that again. Can’t be sure but she may have said any time I came to see her or at 6 month intervals. Anyway, I’m to see her again in 2 hours and will request to have my ears cleaned again of ear wax. Since I saw her last I was fitted with my 1st HAs ever, now almost 4 months ago, Rexton Reach. Will see a fitter/adjuster at Costco in 4 days and get new domes, filters and retention straps. This time I’ll ask if they will provide me with those and show me how it’s done. Half the time I go to Costco they’re understaffed and can’t get them to accommodate me.
I go to the Richmond Costco, too. Early morning is best time to get accommodation and find staff able to help. They do a good job there, in my experience. GL!
