It has been ten years since I had first noticed that something is wrong with my hearing. I was diagnosed with Otosclerosis at my first visit to a doctor.
First years after that, the Air Conduction loss progress was slow but consistent on my left ear and right seemed fine and was saving the day.
Last couple of years Air Conduction loss on left had advanced quite fast and also in both ears Bone Conduction loss at high frequencies has started.
I guess that is the sensorineural component kicking in.
I kinda get used to live with one hearing ear but lately I noticed that I am having difficulties with speech recognition especially at crowded and/or noisy environments. It started to require some effort to understand and very difficult to try to learn a new language…
I have come to a conclusion now I need to do something with this )… Surgery or hearing aids…
I would appreciate any opinions.
