Hey there, I am a 29 year old guy who’s had a good measure of hearing loss since childhood and I’m finally going to be picking up my first pair tomorrow thanks to insurance. I was told at least 20 years ago I’d need to get them lol.
I tried phonak Infinio audio sphere i70s for a couple weeks in the fall, but they’re my only experience. I’m excited to try the Vivia 9s. I liked the phonaks but they were quite big and the audiologist I trialed with them didn’t really make any custom changes with me, he just programmed them to my audiogram and let them use them for a while. Ended up not committing due to cost, but now I have insurance that fully covers them.
My primary concern is basically the things I won’t know to think of yet. I had a custom mold made for my one ear as it goes basically straight up, but my concern would be sound quality and in general what to look for tomorrow if that makes sense. I am a heavy user for lack of a better term, I work in a help desk and use the phone constantly and I am also a longtime hobbyist musician, self taught guitar in my teens so that is important to me as well.
I guess at the end of the day, I’m looking for any feedback you may have wanted to give yourself when you got your first pair. Any and all input is appreciated it, thank you so much.
