Totally agree. Satisfaction with HAs is founded on an acceptance that they can never give you perfect hearing. After all, they’re called ‘aids’, not ‘restorers’.

I have new hearing aids. They replaced some that needed replacing…I had a follow up visit today.
My wife said to me, “You can’t hear!” " what did he change? "
Well he increased the volume of the aids. He showed me how to change the domes and wax guards. I had installed the wax guards poorly.
My wife said that I’m talking too loud. I’m using the tiny plug dome for the Paradise HA’s. Would that affect my comprehension and ability to hear? I’m feeling old–75 a few days ago. but I really want to hear better.
I have tinitus. Sound like cicadas. Wish they would sing together; And they are loud.

Your hearing loss is right there needing earmolds. Might ask your fitter about them. Talking too loud is a sign also.
