Step 2 taken Today - There is no turning back now

Yes, I was activated in January.

I’m going to see my surgeon again tomorrow, but the mystery pain has disappeared as mysteriously as it showed up. I have no explanation other than possibly I tried to wear it too long from the beginning.

I’m embarrassed to admit, I’m a bit of a macho man when it comes to pain. I almost never pay attention to break in schedules and start wearing contact lenses all day, go back to work before I’m supposed to, etc.

With the Osia, I followed the schedule for three or four days and then starred wearing it all day long. All day long for me is from 6 AM to 11PM.

I more than likely caused the pain myself by not following the break in schedule.

I see the surgeon tomorrow at 2PM. Hopefully, I’ll remember to update this forum before the end of day.

The visit to the surgeon was as I expected, uneventful. The pain had subsided and disappeared as mysteriously as it had appeared. I believe I had worn the processor too long and irritated the skin. Going without for several days allowed it to recover.

On another note, I awoke this morning and couldn’t find my sound processor. It wasn’t in the drying jar or in its storage case. I was at a loss to figure out where I had left it when I finally reached up and touched the implant site. I was surprised to find the sound processor safe and secure.

I had apparently worn it to bed. The battery died during the night, so I didn’t hear anything from it while I was looking for it.
