Is the support provided by this forum for users self programming their own HAs being withdrawn? Two long term topics regarding DIY programming have been recently closed. At the time I am looking for information on how to start and increase my skill.

No not at all, those posts had simply run there course, far too long for anyone to read through it all.

What do you need to know, ask away, there’s plenty of us doing DIY.

Cheers

While acknowledging the assurances given by @tenkan (i.e. that some threads were closed for good reason) I’m noticing that the Hearing Aid Self-fitting…category now sits in an area that is headed ‘Muted Categories’.

Perhaps it was always in there; my limited recollection is that it was easier to find last week.

I get here via this bookmarked link Hearing Aid Self-Fitting and Adjusting [DIY] - Hearing Aid Forum - Active Hearing Loss Community
Without the link one can get here via home/community/hearing loss forum/all categories/hearing aid self fitting.

It would be nice if it was a little easier to find. But everything considered, especially all the time the mods had to waste on a single (now banned) member, we can’t expect them to promote the category.

It’s been muted for years so HA manufacturers don’t easily see it.

Yeah I always thought it was like this, “semi hidden” was a term used quite a bit around here, google doesn’t have any problem finding it, so not sure on the reason’s for doing so.

Thanks @Zebras

So, Saul Good Man…

I must say that this forum has been a huge step forward for me in my journey through hearing difficulties. I have made huge progress in that journey in the few months since I first came across HearingTracker.

All of y’all who contribute your respective 2¢ worth on hearing related issues are actually adding to a huge repository that, for folks who are hard of hearing and see this stuff, is worth its weight in gold!

I doff my cap to ye!

Thanks all for the assurances that the support will continue.

My HAs are from Tru-Hearing, produced by Signia, premium 6 RIC. These are replacing a pair of Agil RIC. While the new ones are way less expensive they work very well. Although the programming needs work.

Here is the list of equipment I think I need:
Connexx software
Noahlink wireless
A pc capable of running Connexx. (I’ve been using Macs for 25+ years).

My main concern is the pc. What is needed for Connexx? Will it run on Windows 11 on a 64 bit machine?

While I have found Connexx for sale, $55-$60, eBay and an internet vendor, is another option available?

Have I missed anything? Other than learning how to program HAs and how to use the software.

Your thoughts appreciated,
Rod

Sure it will and win10, just be careful about ARM processes, Noahlink wireless won’t work on them.

Don’t buy the software, it’s available.

You should check out the Connexx user guides as they are very helpful for the first fit, the video instructions are pretty good.
