The other day I opened smartfit and synced my hearing aids. I remember having to click fit patient first.(I had already made a profile) Then connect to smart sound. I didn’t go any further. I don’t remember seeing save and exit at that point. I will eventually go for it. Being cautious. Makes me nervous.
Off subject. But to give you an idea of my audiologist. I asked if I could buy two reciever wires for backup in case one of mine broke. They’re on eBay for 40 bucks. I was hoping they’d just throw me a set. But he said “no we can’t do that. That’s something we have to change out.” I’ve watched a video resound has out showing how to change them. Super simple. Anyways. Just thought I’d share.
You’ll be fine, as I mentioned just take your time and small adjustments to begin with, the save is bottom right corner.
And yes your Audiologist wants to do it for you because this is part of the “service” bundle people pay so much for, like you can change them out pretty quickly, and adjust in SmartFit anytime you like, easy as.
It’s bottom right corner of the SmartFit screen. But if you aren’t wanting to do this, then don’t. It’s not difficult, but it’s software designed for professionals and if you don’t understand how to use it, you should forget it and leave it to a professional to do it for you. None of us are pushing you towards DIY.
So are you saying only professionals should attempt diy? Seems you’re getting annoyed by me?. Definitely no encouragement in your last post. I want very much to do this. I am just learning as much as I can before I dive in. You have me very confused now. Of course I don’t understand the procedure yet. I just started. Should I quit? I don’t want you to take offense to my response but your msg really was discouraging. Tenkan has me feeling confident and ready to start then I get your msg. I apologize if I am misunderstanding your msg. Feeling very discouraged. Please. No hard feelings. I want to get along with everyone. You gave me some great advice before that. Thank you.
No no, we’re not getting annoyed, just saying that you must have at least a basic understanding of what you want to achieve and how you are going to do that, so reading the user guides and watching the YT videos plus using the demo simulation mode in SmartFit software, you’ll get how all this works, before jumping in.
I’ve watched a lot of videos and still rewatching. Read alot of the literature. I have not seen anything that explains simulation mode. I’ll figure it out though. Thank you all for everything.
I’m not getting annoyed! What I am saying is that it’s easy enough to do, but the SmartFit software isn’t designed for end users to use and professionals don’t need all the the explanations that you are missing, like how to use Simulate for example.
So if you aren’t comfortable with using SmartFit, then it’s not for any of us regulars here to try to persuade you to have a go anyway. We will help all we can and tell you if you are heading somewhere unsafe but it’s your decision.
Finally went for it now I keep getting this msg. both ha’s are being assigned but i get this msg when i hit continue. i click connection assistance and its in BTE mode. i clicked wireless which shows my style if hearing aids, i hit back and its in bte mode again. what am i doing wrong? noah link shows up. hearing aids assign to each side and batterys are full ty.
Remember you only get 2min or so to make the connection, so as soon as open and close the battery door (or place in charger and remove) try the connection straight away,
I did. At least 5-6 times. They’re connecting fine. Serial number shows ect. Connection assistant has it on bte. I changed to custom and wireless. Mainly wireless because I know it’s right. It has an animation taking them out of the charger. But everytime I go back and try to continue and it fails. Then I look in connection assistant and it’s on bte again. I took screenshots.i am connecting within 15 seconds at the most.
Forget the other stuff for now, obviously your not doing something quite right, and what’s this BTE thing you keep mentioning, got a screenshot of that?
We could never work out what the other forum member that you quoted was doing wrong, as in to why he couldn’t connect, and he never came back to to confirm if he was ever able to DIY.
It won’t be the driver if you can connect the first time as it shows you model and serial number.
So did you make you client up and enter you audiogram and details and then trying to connect or something else.
I made a client. I did not set up audiogram. I assumed that’d be pulled with all other info? I simply click fit patient.
I am trying to stay on the same thread but seen this and figured I’d better clear it up. Bte is what you see if you click connection assistant. You’ve already told me that section wasn’t important.
Am I supposed to enter my audiogram? I pray not because I already sent that Airlink back. The seller of Noahlink canceled our transaction. So I am looking for another Noahlink. If you see one please let me know. I have one bookmarked but still looking for a bit longer. Sucks that all airlinks are gone. Talk to you later.
