I have a crazy newbie question. How do you properly put domes on RIC aids?

My former hearing specialist said to push them on until the wax guard pushes though.

The video on Starkeypro.com seems to indicate they should not go on that far If this is true, I guess you remove the dome to change the wax filter.

Thanks

My resound recievers have a red line mark on the right aid and a blue on the left, I push them down to that line. I do have to use a spreader resound tool to get them on otherwise its almost impossible to get them on far enough. Yes you must remove the dome to change the wax guard, I don’t get what you mean by (pushes through)

Thanks.

I should have been more clear. I am talking about Starkey RICs. I have had the Wi for a few years and am now trialling the Z-Series.

Myoriginal HS had the domes pushed back exposing the wax filters. A brief shot in a starkeypro video and my current audiologist indocate otherwise, but my audi is not that familiar with Starkey.

With Starkey aids, you don’t have to push the dome on until you see the wax guard pushing through. That way it gives you more of a double wax protection system (outer layer of dome, and then wax guard underneath that). You shouldn’t have to change the waxguards as often that way. Just make sure the domes are on securely by giving them a little tug.

Thank you.
Apparently, my HIS had me wearing them wrong for years.
