First time on this site. I have Costco offering me three hearing aids, of which I’ve chosen Rexton BiCore. Retail is $1,000 Canadian dollars. A hearing aid store that I have visited, in an attempt to get my business, has offered me a Signia Pure Charge and Go 1AX. They claim the Signia retails for $3038 for a set. They are offering the hearing aids to me for $950, a discount of $2,088.

My question is which hearing aid is better. Cost is a factor, but I want the best value for my hearing. Thank you.

The Costco one has more “advanced” features than a 1AX. The 1AX is their more basic level aid. The Costco one is closer to a 7AX. That said, if the hearing aid store fitter is really good, they might do a better job fitting the aid to you (but I wouldn’t bet on it. I’d lean towards Costco. If you’re not satisfied, I believe you have 90 days to make up your mind and can get a full refund. Do clarify this with Costco.

I’m with @MDB on this, the Costco models are premium, the 1AX doesn’t compare, the warranty and trial period from Costco is pretty good as well.

Actually, Costco offers a full six months in which I can return my Costco hearing aid.

The audiologist at Costco did indeed say all three of their offerings are premium.

Yes, so if you do decide to go Costco, you should research which models you’d really like to trial before hand, there’s quite a bit of discussion on them,
Jabra (ReSound)
Phillips (Demant A/S- Sonic?)
Rexton (Signia)

I’m sure you’ll find one you like “best”

I knew that was the case (180 days) in the US, but thought it was 90 days in Canada. (You mentioned Canadian dollars.) Edit: I just checked Costco’s Canada website and it states “90 day trial”
Whatever the case actually is, this is the kind of stuff to confirm and preferably see in writing. Don’t assume anything.

Our Costco here offers:

  • Rexton - BiCore
  • Philips - 9030
  • Resound - Jabra enhance

All are premium, and it seems like all will do the job. The audiologist said if it was her, she’d choose the Rexton. She also said Rexton was their biggest seller.

The Rexton has the smallest hearing aids of the three. And comes with two chargers - one for home and one for travel (not a huge benefit).

Yup, 6 months in Canada trial period. And 2 year loss and damage. And 3 year manufacturer warranty.

I would make sure and triply confirm it is actually a 180 day trial as everywhere is saying 90 days for Canada.

The Costco Canada does indeed state 90 day trial. However, they changed that to 180 days during Covid, and now plan to leave it at 180 days. I have the 180 day trial in writing.
