Hope everyone is having a great day. I have been using my Resound Nexia for about 2+ weeks and really like them. I was given the new TV Streamer+ and I have the legacy Streamer 2. I use one at work on my PC and the other at home on my TV. Is there a consensus on which is better? Currently the Streamer 2 is on the TV and the (+) is on the computer but don’t know if it should be the other way around or if it even makes a difference. Any insight would be great. Thanks in advance.

The major difference is that the Plus model allows others to use your tv streamer if they have headphones or hearing aids with Auracast capability. You will have to decide which device, tv or computer, you want that to have.

Note, if the headphones don’t have Auracast capability, then you will need an Auracast receiver to connect to the headphones. So far I’ve only seen one Auracast receiver/transmitter for sale.

What I would find interesting is if you would connect the Plus to your tv and tell us if the voice and video are out of synchronization. If you can not tell any difference between the model 2 and Plus, that’s will be great news.

Two other things that would be interesting to know are whether the Streamer+ uses less battery power than Streamer 2 and the distance from Streamer+ before you lose access. Streamer+ with Auracast uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) what is also used with iPhone MFi streaming. Streamer 2 uses a proprietary 2.4GHz protocol to connect to hearing aids to avoid lip sync and power consumption issues when using standard Bluetooth and I suspect it’s probably pretty energy efficient but it would be nice to know how it compares with Auracast and LE if that’s possible to observe. As far as distance goes, for me Streamer 2 can be a couple hundred feet away and still maintain a connection so it would be interesting to know if Streamer+ has the same or similar distance capability.

Actually the TV Streamer+ with Auracast uses BT Low Energy Audio, which is completely different from BT Low Energy. And BT Low Energy Audio should sound substantially better than BT or BT Low Energy, but as you say, you need the receiving device to be compatible. The Nexia is and most other things aren’t compatible yet.

What happened when you switched the 2 streamers? Did the Streamer+ work well without any lad in the sound?

Sorry for the delay in my response. I tried both streamers and there was no delay in the new streamer +, I had to slightly modify the original streamer 2. I subsequently removed the (+) from my PC at work as I was getting some additional sounds during meetings that became very distracting. I plan to reattach it to my Tv this week. I seem to be able to take meetings just fine using the HA without the streamer. However I did like the additional focus I got with the sound streamed directly into my ears. I know Windows 11 will have LE Bluetooth so will probably wait until then. I was able to successfully attach the Nexia’s to my M1 MBP but it was very difficult to toggle between my phone and my MBP so if anyone has what the recommended process should be that would be great as mine either gets locked onto the MBP or the phone and I am having a difficult time switching.

Have others had issues with the Streamer+ and a Windows PC laptop???
Have others had success using the Streamer+ with a laptop?

I will get a Streamer 2 if I have to but it is not my preference. Is there more information on the circumstances of the issues Marc was having?

I am interested in the Streamer+ as I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra phone and LE Audio with my Jabra Enhance Pro 20. I also like that it uses USB-C. My primary interest is Zoom and streaming music. My partner has an S24 so we could both connect to Zoom calls or music. Are their other advantages or disadvantages?

What about voice to the laptop? Is there an option for that, besides the external microphone?

I have power domes so I do not think headphones over my HAs will work well.

I understand that the sound from the Streamer+, and somewhat the Streamer as well, will be noticably better sounding for streaming music then either the PhoneClip+, the Micro-Mic or the Multi-Mic, as well as having lower latency and not needing to run off short life batteries.

With the Streamer+ connected to my laptop, will it pause if I get a phone call? Can I still even hear a phone call coming in?

My 2 year old Windows 11 laptop does not have Bluetooth 5.3 so it is not compatible with LE Audio, despite having the updated software. So I do not want to wait.

Just to say that the multi-mic and probably the other two cheaper options are mono not stereo, so are unlike the TV streamers and not really suitable for music.

Do you know if I need a PhoneClip+ to mute the music/Zoom when a call comes in or will the phone/HAs do that for me?

With my iphone (SE, 2022, ios 17.?) and my EP10s, phone calls mute and interrupt zoom and other meetings, TV audio from a TVS2, and streaming music. With all the cold calls, the priority can be a PITA. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well I broke down and ordered the ReSound TV Streamer+ for $240 from Pure Hearing. It arrived today. The setup was very easy. Put the hearing aids 2 inches from the TV Streamer+ after plugging it into a USB charger, press the pairing button and wait for the flashing lites to turn solid two times for each HA. That is it.

I plugged it into my laptop headphones jack with a 3.5mm male to male jack I ordered on Amazon then turned on Spotify and started streaming music :musical_note::notes:. The stereo sound really is quite nice. I adjusted the sound on my laptop to 52% set the app to 50% then adjusted the + - buttons on the streamer to an acceptable volume, switched the app to the tuned music program and away I went.

I noticed in my studies that the PhoneClip+ is also stereo. My partner has one and when I get back home in July I will check it out. It has a mic as well which might come in handy. It uses Bluetooth to connect to the laptop so it will have more of a delay. We will see.

When I get back I will hook the TV Streamer+ up to our TV. We both have the EP 20s and Galaxy S23 and S24. It will be fun to try out Auracast together.
