Resound Hearing Aids & iPhone 12 Pro - Connection issues/static, only one working w/static etc

IOS 14.2.1 was only for iPhone 12, so you wouldn’t get it on an SE 2020.

I have the SE2020 an it is updated to 14.3 with no issues with static

Me too. Updated last night

Thank you! If I may ask, do you have a Ragdoll?

Two Maine Coons, of which this is one. My grown up daughter has two Ragdolls though.

Hello,
Would someone mind telling me if the static problem has been resolved yet? Would love to know before I order then iPHone 12 Pro. I see that iOS 14.4 is most current.
For either the Resound Quattro or Oticon More.
Would appreciate it!
Danny

I am using iPhone 12 Pro with IOS 14.4 and Resound Quattros and it’s all fine.

Phonak Marvel Naidas v90, bluetooth paired with my iPhone 12 pro, have experienced static and distortion about 95% of the time since the day I first starting using the iPhone 12. Never an issue with my old iPhone 10. I’ve been working with Apple support and now some Apple engineers and executive relations experts, and still no resolution. I have a standing case with Apple open so I can give them feedback. I am updated to iOS 14.4 and it still happens. Anyone heard of any fixes here? I also have my Apple watch bluetooth connected which is phone capable…could that be an issue? I am at my wits’ end and so depressed about this new phone.

Welcome to the forum.
You are not alone with these newer Apple phones. Not just Phonak either, most modern hearing aids seem to be having these problems, but not all.
Try to make sure your phone has the latest updates. That has helped many here on the forum.
Good luck

In another thread, someone reports that after much pursuit, Apple support have now said that a fix for Phonak aids and iPhone 12 will be included in the next IOS update (so later that 14.4 which is the current release).

For most MFI hearing aids, IOS 14.2.1 fixed the iPhone 12 problems back in November 2020.

Thank you, I will also keep all posted as I work with the Apple reps too. Hoping it all resolves.

I stopped using the iPhone 12 with my hearing aids because hearing aid battery life went from 5 days to 3 days. Ridiculous to upgrade to an expensive phone and lose features! Besides the battery life, I cant get the sound for receiving a text to play with any appreciable volume on the phone itself when the hearing aids are hooked up.

Welcome to this nice well informed group.

Any update on the Resound one with iPhone 12? I am scheduled to try Resound One but I’d buy iPhone 12 before that if all is fixed. Also will be using batteries instead of rechargeable. I will be traveling more in the furtue and don’t want to lose it. Batteries are quicker to replace.

I am not hearing or reading of any problems of Resound Ones communicating with iPhone 12, but I’m using Resound LINX Quattro myself, so not the same. However the Quattros work fine with my iPhone 12 Pro.

The original problems of crackling etc at launch with iPhone 12 back in Nov 20 were all fixed in early December 2020 with firmware updates to both Resound hearing aids and the phone.

Thanks for the info! Very helpful.

The Forum search feature is awesome! Glad it found this thread, now going to search for similar threads about streaming problems with other phones.

I’m trialing a ReSound LiNX Quattro BTE and so far it is a vast improvement over what I had. I can hear and actually understand much of what my wife says. It is a blessing. And I can hear much better on the phone (not streaming, just old-fashioned phone to hearing aid). It is getting to the point that when the phone rings, my heart does not stop.

Still need to upgrade my phone from Samsung S7 in order to stream sound to the aid. The “compatibility” chart on the ReSound website is interesting but may not be up to date - not sure.

I know this is a hearing aid forum, not a phone forum, but I’d be happy to read anything anyone wants to say about how well their particular phone works with their hearing aids.
