I’ve used (with satisfaction) Resound products for the past decade+ (CC4 CICs) though I note there are complaints their quality has since gone downhill, their products have had numerous reliability problems, their customer support has deteriorated (one reason my audiologist says she gave up on them), etc.
From what you say, Um Bongo, noise management, directionality, flexibility, automatics can make an important difference. Plus two years can sometimes mean a world of innovation and convenience when it comes to hearing aids. So, ignoring price for now, it appears one ought to give the Resound Futures a serious look; the difference may well be worth the extra $1400ish when compared to the Kirkland Signatures/Rexton Cobalts.
Cordless phones (themselves increasingly obsolete) have had 5.8 for long with superior sound quality so I wonder why Resound chose a retro 2.4 Ghz than 5.8.
Maybe I should ask Costco/Resound if they can fix my old CC4s for me to trial/buy the Resound Futures (with a guarantee from Resound if I have any quality/reliability problems they would fix it, no questions asked! which is fair, given their recent history…)
