Sounds like you are sticking with premium level hearing aids. All modern hearing aids at that level have more than enough channels.
Premium is the best and completely level i need. I just ain’t wanna miss 1 feature. And like i mentioned i don’t have any issues with money. The most important thing is my mum to be so comfortable and enjoy.
Then you don’t need to worry about channels. They will all have more than enough.
Gain is “cheap”. But high HL numbers suggest we may have to make a very loud sound in the ear to do the job. We need Power.
A slim-tube may waste half the power you put into the tube. For my mild loss, we just put twice the power into the tube. But for a very high loss, this means large electrical power, and short battery life. It may even be more power than the receiver (speaker) can handle.
The fat-tube has lower loss so the electrical side does not have to work as hard.
Say you want to water a small garden. A slim hose will work fine. But then you want to water a large field of grain. You won’t get enough water through a garden hose. You could pump harder, but at some point it is really better to use a larger hose.
RIC seems like it would avoid the tube issue; but a high-Power receiver may be too large to fit in an ear (depending on the power required and the user’s ear).
This is something the HA technician has to design to suit the specific patient, not a matter of preference.
