Are you sure? There is a Audeo Paradise Life as well.
I would like to know what drawbacks here are for the Life version? Are they any bigger or heavier?
I saw in the youtube video that the life version comes with the batterypack charger which I prefer.
I plan to contact my Audiologist on Monday to see about ordering!
You may want to consider the details; The Phonak Audéo Life is Waterproof*, not Waterproof. And the asterisk means;
- (* up to 50 cm or 1.64 feet)
So, would it be Waterproof in a child’s wading pool with a depth of 24 inches. I dunno.
The bridge is not actually waterproof. It is located in a place named Waterproof.
I think of this like iphones. The last few generations of iphones have been “waterproof.” But I still don’t let them get wet on purpose. On the first “waterproof” generation a friend went canoeing, and she had the phone get wet in her pants and spoiled. We were all sad.
I am happy that they are “more waterproof” than ip68. Are the receivers that waterproof? How about activevents? “whatever that means.”

BTW, the same goes for the Lumity platform:
Not at all. Only the body of the HA is.
Unless I am missing something, my guess is that (Life Waterproof/Asterisk) is just a marketing ploy. Maybe there is no Life? Hahaha, that sounds funny.
The new line of Lumity hearing aids switched over to inductive/wireless charging. So they no longer have the two (+/-) metal contact points sticking out of the case. Maybe that automatically makes them more Waterproof because of a more-sealed case??
Look at the links below showing a conspicuous absence of a Product Information File for Audéo Life at PhonakPro for Professionals. Note there is a Product Information File for Fit. So why not Life?
The Myphonak app shows the percentage. Maybe not for all, but at least for the Paradises.
But is the percentage shown an actual % to the nearest decimal value or is it just a range. iOS shows a percentage for MFi HA’s but it’s just a range, not a true percentage to within one decimal value. For example, if I see 40% charge on my iPhone, it means that my HA’s are somewhere between 20% and 40% charge.
Do the numbers for % charge change continuously in the myPhonak app or do they jump in steps of 10%, 20%, or more at a time. It’s the latter stepwise indication of % charge that I’m talking about.
This is how it looks a little while after the start of the day. It is always an exact number. And right down to shutdown. The other night I had one HA at1% and the other at 3% at 17hours 30 min. The 1% one shut down a few min later.

What would they use to collect big data if if it was possible? They are not Google or Amazon.
As further proof, there is no Phonak Life hearing aid model in Target 8.0.1
While this is welcome news - I’m struggling to see what has changed from the Audeo Marvels (I have the KS9.0 so I’m basing it off that) up to Lumity. I suppose I’m going to have to wait and see the comparisons between Paradise and Lumity before I make the jump. These review videos couldn’t come sooner enough, lol.
Between Paradise and Lumity? I think it’s just this;
I figured as much. Incremental increases are kind of meh for me because I can only get a new set of hearing aids every 5 years.
I think more or less, I just want to get away from the Costco audi’s and go to an audi that can take the time to perfect my hearing loss. It’s not a difficult loss to fit (my audiogram is attached to my profile), I just want to find someone who can take the time to work out the fine tuning channels, REM, you know… The entire 8 miles.
I mean, maybe with their old hearing aids you got 1/100 words in noise and now you get 3/100.
Oh sorry, that would be 300% increase.
Adding my own 2-cents’ worth: If I go to the Bluetooth app on my Galaxy Z Flip phone, and see the R-Phonak hearing aid in the list (which is the name for my Phonak Life aids) it DOES give the battery reading! Right now, my Life aids are at 50% charged.
My older Marvel aids in that same list give NO battery reading in the BT app. Go figure.
I know it’s all so confusing! But the Paradise platform introduced inductive charging in its Life model. That’s what I just bought - and which I KILLED with a couple swims in the pool. And you’re right about the hermetically-sealed case: it’s smooth as a BEAN. So much so, that I call these aids my “beans”. When I slip them into the charging base at night, there is a kind of magnet feel that seems to pull them into the right spot for perfect charging.
Minor aside here: I was EVER so glad to have been traveling last week with my battery-operated Marvels, cuz wouldntchaknow, a couple hotel rooms where we stayed had a paucity of SOCKETS - and NONE near the bed! Oh, I could’ve put the charging station on the bathroom sink or on the floor where a vacuum cleaner would be plugged in, but it gave me a bit of consternation and face-palming to deal with!
Okay I think I get it now It looks like Phonak Audéo Life is some external case changes (Audéo Life features additional internal seals and protective coatings, inductive charging, and a pin-less receiver port.). Note that waterproof is marked with an asterisk meaning only up to 50cm/1.64 feet.
But Audéo Life is not a separate hearing aid model in Phonak Target. In Phonak Target the Audéo Life must be programmed as the Audéo Lumity meaning it’s the same hearing aid except for those waterproffey case changes.
Life is just another model, so in general:
- form factor/series
- platform
- model(s)
=
- Audéo / Virto / Naida
- Marvel / Paradise / Lumity
- Rechargable (R), Rechargable with telecoil (RT), Rechargable Life (RL), Battery with telecoil (13T), Battery (312) etc.
