Phonak Target infinio sphere connection problem with one HA

Firmware is the latest (weirdly checking this works fine in Target, it dies not require the same connection as fitting)

Actually it’s the same, BLE is used for the App and Noahlink wireless, but still strange that both you guys got this problem just recently.

Using the latest firmware for my infinio spheres (1.0.13.0) and latest firmware for the NoahLink Wireless II. I booked an appointment for my audiologist next Tuesday.

Ok sounds like a plan, let us know the outcome, should be interesting to see what the fix is.

I have an update that hopefully helps those with similar connection issues. As my independent audiologist had exactly the same connection issue, I did not put great hope in a computer change, but I tried anyway. I bought a cheap late 2018 MacBook Air (A1932, Intel CPU) and installed Windows 10 under VMWare Fusion (free). Phonak Target installed fine, Noah Wireless 2 was also instantly recognised without having to install drivers separately. Much to my surprise, connection and setup change uploads to both HAs worked instantly. So it was the old laptop (Panasonic Toughpad) after all. I have a hypothesis: it could be that the NW2 draws unusually high power from the USB port, and the onboard USB ops some laptops don;t provide quite enough - and so it works-ish, but not for connecting to both HAs. I may have used a powered USB hub when connecting first with the same laptop.

Very glad it works again. And the MacBook Air with WMWare is much faster and a much nicer device to use, for less than an underpowered cheap native Windows laptop.

I visited my audiologist today. She experienced the same problem with not being able to connect the left HA. Since the black case is available now and I was promised a free chance of casing she just sent them in to Phonak and let them sort it out.

That might mean we’re never know what the fix is. I also heard new devices are being shipped with new firmware with better bluetooth stability ( she understood it related to streaming) and improved Spheric mode.

Should be 2 to 3 weeks till I get my fixed or new devices.

Interesting. I tried it on several ports on my fixed Windows pc and on my macbook through usbc-usba adaptors. Not sure if I tried the powered usb hub as well. I don’t have my HA anymore so I cannot test that hypothesis anymore.

I hope you got loners or have some backups,as it does seem a bit long to wait tho.

Yes, I got spheric loaners. Which is a good thing because I am presenting on a meeting tomorrow followed by a network diner and some drinks in Brussels. I would not enjoy that without Spheric mode.

Oh that’s great, yeah it’s important to be able to converse in these times, be merry.
