I have severe to profound hearing loss and as of now I work mostly WFH , So I use Zoom Call , Iphone calls etc
Currently I am using Phonak Marvel for more than 7 years …
I am looking to buy new hearing aid which i am looking below factors as important for me
Must connect multiple bluetooth devices (Current one Marvel is disappointing I have to disconnect and connect other devices)
Need more clarity in speech in Zoom calls or iPhone calls or in person speech
Need longer battery life ( Current one Marvel when used bluetooth like Zoom calls drastically reduces the batttery percentage) In average I use more than 14hrs of usage … I wish to have atleast 18hrs of battery usage
If any one from New Jersey , Let me best audiologist who cares giving best fitting hearing clarity programmed
Confused which one to go Sphere or Non Sphere … I dont party or work in crowd location , except sometimes once in bluemoon office crowd meetings
I have TruHearing insurance , I dont know why some audologist advice not to go with TruHearing
If you don’t find yourself communicating in noisy social settings very often, the only advantage of the Sphere is a longer battery life - particularly if your not enhmgaging the Spheric Speech in Noise program. How many hours perbday do you wear your hearing aids? What oercentage of time are you streaming. If you get a PC capable of utilising Low Energy Audio, you’ll find that streaming (from either Phonak device) will be far less taxing on your batteries. All current phonaks can support 2 active Bluetooth connections simultaneously. I hope that helps.
As @Louie said, The Spheres have much better battery life. I would suggest the Spheres for the battery alone since the price difference in not much. Since you are in New Jersey, I suggest you call ZipHearing. They have discounted prices and use local audiologists. From personal experience Zip recommended two local audiologists, one in Edison and one in Morristown. Both are good. The audiologist in Edison does not have REM equipment but I think she is the best anyway. Depending on where in Jersey you are located they will have other audiologists to recommend as well. As noted, the newer Phonak aids will pair with up to six devices but can be connected to only two at one time. If one is your phone, the switch will be automatic when a call is placed or received.
I have Phonak Audeo Paradise P90Rs which are one model newer than yours; two models older than the ones that you are considering.
I wish that my hearing aids had replaceable batteries. They don’t; the battery life was awful.
I got new hearing aids and a new charger at end of the warranty period. They have new batteries, and battery life is acceptable for normal daily use now.
I cursed the wax guards in my Paradise P90R’s. They come in a frisby-like case. I had trouble changing them and 1/3 of the time I had to change them twice.
Now I have Power Receivers, 5.0 model. They use the old wax guards on sticks and I’m so much better off I dance every time I change the wax guards.
I blaimed Phonak for problems for a couple of years. I apologize. It was the person that sold them and set them up. I changed experts. New guy has helped me so much.
I read everything here on latest and greatest Phonaks. Spheres. I would buy them just for longer battery life too. My hearing is terrible. I constantly can’t hear. I often ask for repeats. I need the best. I hope to get the Spheres.
A thought…by the end of my work day I’m exhausted. That’s because it’s darn hard work trying to hear. I vote for Spheres.
Thanks
I understand.
However, my issues are even hearing in quiet environments. I need all the help I can get.
My Paradise P90R’s are almost 3-1/2 years old.
