Phonak Audeo Yes versus the Oticon Dual

Hi there. I have Audeo Yes IX’s and my audiogram is similar to yours, but I don’t seem to have the Soundrecover oprational. I spoke to my audio about it and he said that the problem for me is that there isn’t really enough residual hearing to recover in to.

Have you tried Audeo yes with and wthout Soundrecover, and found it to be far better with?

My audiogram:
125 50R 50L
250 50R 50L
500 55R 40L
1k 55R 40L
1k5 80R 75L
2k 80R 80L
3k 70R 75L
4k 70R 70L
6k 65R 65L
8k 65R 65L

I would have thought that there is such a drop for me between 1000Hz and 1500Hz that it could be beneficial to recover some sound, but then what do I know?

Could any of the friendly Audeo IX specialist audiologists on here comment?

  1. Problem: iCom mic too sensitive
This can be adjusted in the software on the Easy Bluetooth program. You can change the amount of mic attenuation there.

  2. Sound Recover
A brilliant feature but not necessary for everyone. A good test to see if you might benefit from it is to try making the “ssss” sound and the “ssshhhh” sound. If you can hear those sounds without Sound Recover activated then you don’t need it. If not -it is always something worth trying no matter how steeply your audiogram drops off. Sometimes a first time hearing aid fit finds the sound quality objectionable and I will deactivate for a couple of weeks then try again and it works!!
