I hope you are well @birdcountry99 :smile: It has been only recently, that I have increased my overall usage of the MyPhonak App, using it mainly to mute my hearing aid Mics, whilst using Roger On & Roger Select, this improves overall clarity, and pointing mode now works a dream with Roger On :smile: IMO in the past, the App was practically useless, but now it seems more slick & fast, loads within seconds, before, you could go and make a coffee, and it might be loaded, when you come back :rofl: I use an iPhone 12 Pro, and its always been rock steady with my aids, no dropped connections whatsoever… Cheers Kev :wink:

So after my complaints about the app above, today I noticed that everytime there is a change in the programs , and not by me , I get a squelch in my aids, also I have the restaurant setting programmed to a point where it would block out other diners and music so I can hear my table mate, but like other programs something changes the program and I’m hit with all the background noise my restaurant program eliminated, I then have to scramble to change it back to my restaurant program this missing part of the table conversation and scaring the hell out of me.
I have now stopped using the app, which is a pain as I had everything set up comfortably in my different programming for tv, music restaurant etc.

The problem may be your phone.

While I don’t find the app to be super useful, it’s been pretty solid on my Pixel 8, which I have had since the middle of November. Since I first paired my Bolero m90 PR aids, the only times the app became a bit flaky, was after having the phone on continuously for many days without a restart, while using the “do not disturb” function at nights. Simply restarting the phone and selecting my Phonak RH aid from the drop down bluetooth menu, always fixed it.

It’s too bad the current Phonak remote control is such a dog. If it were as good as the previous version I use with my V70 aids, I would have zero need for the My Phonak app.

Anyway that’s my rant for today.

You are welcome @birdcountry99, the feeling is mutual :smile: I hope you are doing well, and life is being kind… Yeah, you should experiment with the App, I was noticing a graphic equaliser, when I last looked, I never tweaked it, unusual for me :rofl: Personally, I can’t believe how well the Naida Lumity’s, have improved my overall listening experience… I am practically borderline horizontal now :rofl: Take Care, Cheers Kev :wink:

Kev, you can also hold down your button on your Aid to mute as well. Pretty sure it’s the bottom button.

Thank you Ruth for that info…Although, I am quite dexterous, I have fairly large hands, and that rocker switch on the aids, I usually leave well alone, apart from occasionally bumping up the volume… There is some slight prep involved when using Roger, so going into the app, is no big deal :smile: Cheers Kev :wink:

I’ve only had my Lumity HA about a month. I’ve had the Phonak app on my phone since I bought a KS9 and I’ve seen changes to the app. What I’ve noticed in the last couple of weeks is my hearing aid becomes disconnected from my phone. I try switching to speaker and nothing. A few minutes later the aid will suddenly reconnect. I don’t know if it’s an app or bluetooth connection freeze. I dislike my ReSound aid, but I might have to resort to it for phone calls. To clarify, the calls don’t drop, the sound drops.

I’m using a Lumity L 90 and an iPhone XR. I know it’s time for a new phone but it seems that those here with newer phones are having issues too. I see the Phonak audi on Tuesday.

That’s what happens with my app, too.
Frankly, the frequent sounds and silences, both, are driving me crazy. I’m starting to consider returning to Oticon for my next pair of hearing aids.

The Moto running Android 13 should work well, as they don’t come with lots of bloatware. Previous to purchasing the Pixel 8, I used Pixel 4a-5g with both Android 13, and 14, and had few issues.

The only issue I had is depending on the position of the phone relative to me, a few callers said my voice sounded a little bit garbled. I moved the phone a few inches and everything was good again.

I should add that Motorola / Lenovo treats their phone and tablet customers poorly when it comes to software updates and bug fixes. They are always way behind.

The recent Phonak app update may be focused more on Android 14 rather than the older systems, and unlike better companies Phonak tends to keep the end users (you & me) at a distance, which means they are getting consumer feedback second hand if at all.

It’s not an encouraging combination.

There was another topic on this to recently, on my M70 Naida, get same issues, so given up creating own programs, as they always disappear, apparently the paradise app is ok, so it seems like they have not bothered or can’t update it to work for older ones.
I think it was mentioned if can get to audiologist they can add a custom program on to and it should stay.

I’ve had the same problems.

Can you ask your audiologist to install some of these settings so you can adjust your hearing aids manually? My audiologist added, phone, music and loud background noise settings that I can adjust manually by pushing the button on my in the ear hearing aids.

I have found that while many of the different existing programs work well, Phonak’s automatic function seems to fail to select the needed program to match the listening environment. In my case being a DIY guy, I programed music to number 1, and comfort in noise to number 2. Now whenever I get into a car knowing I will be on the highway, in an airplane, or a noisy restaurant, I immediately select #2, and enjoy not having to listen to all the noise. Same thing when playing my classical guitar, hit #1, and all is good.

I can select these modes using either a long press on the hearing aid button, or using the app.

This may be a simplified explanation, as I have customized all of my program settings to suit my preferences, but any audiologist should be able to set up your aids this way in a few minutes, it’s not rocket science.

I don’t think that the auto function is my friend.

Long time ago the only trick I knew was turn volume up.
Now I have multiple programs (never know what it chose), directional microphones, and a hearing aid slave. Except the audi didn’t think to turn that on.

More helpful—my new hearing aid dispenser is wonderful. He has given my a Target User Report and Pro Report in the past. Fantastic. last visit he forgot. :frowning:

I hate Auto. I just have 2 programs now and do all switching manually. In your case, where you work outdoors amongst danger, I believe any beamforming would be hazardous.
